(1) The guardian of every vulnerable child should get the primary vaccination before the child reaches 6 months.
(2) The guardian should vaccinate the child until the child reaches the age of 12 years with no difference of more than 3 years.
However, if the custodian informs the relevant medical officer of the place of vaccination that smallpox has spread, the custodian must vaccinate the child even before that period. Within 1 month after transfer, full details of the new place of residence should be given to the concerned vaccination center.
(4) If the person who vaccinates finds that the health of the unprotected child is not fit for vaccination, he/she will give the child's guardian a certificate stating that the child's health is not fit for vaccination. Such a certificate will be valid only for the time specified in it.
(5) After the period of illness is over, the guardian of such a child should take the child to the place of vaccination for vaccination or if he wishes, he should be vaccinated at his residence by the vaccinator. However, if the child is still unwell before vaccination, the person who vaccinates will renew the certificate.
(6) If the child is not found to be unwell to the concerned medical officer, the medical officer may cancel the certificate given in accordance with this section at any time and thereafter such certificate shall not be applicable and the child shall be informed thereof.
(7) If the health of the unvaccinated child appears to be good, the person who vaccinates may vaccinate the child and the date of vaccination and the place, date and time the child should be present for inspection shall be given written notice to the custodian of the child.
